Keeping It Running
Ongoing care starts at $40 a month. That covers security updates to your site's code, regular backups, uptime monitoring, and something most maintenance plans leave out: a direct update from me every week or two on how your site is actually doing - how much traffic you're getting and which pages people are really visiting.
Your site's code is kept in a private repository with full version history, so any change can be undone. Nothing about your site can be lost or broken beyond repair.
What's included beyond that: content edits are billed hourly, at a rate we agree on up front. Adding or removing pages, or reworking how a page is laid out, is quoted as its own small project rather than absorbed into the monthly rate.
What moves the monthly price: whether I cover your domain registration, the hosting tier you want, and how much editing you need month to month.
How It Works
A 25% deposit gets things started (minimum $250), with the balance due when your site goes live.
Two rounds of revisions are included. You review, send me everything you'd like changed, I make the changes, and we do that twice. Further rounds are billed hourly, so a project has a clear finish line rather than drifting.
Redesigning an existing site is quoted separately. Sometimes it costs less than a new build, when your content and structure carry over cleanly. Sometimes it costs more, when there's an older site to untangle first.
If the upfront cost is the obstacle, say so. I can lower the deposit and starting fee in exchange for a higher monthly rate over the first couple of years. I would rather find an arrangement that works than lose a project worth doing.
